Next February, the Satellite Wind Ensemble will be one of just five ensembles selected to perform on the campus of the University of Mississippi as part of the 2010 Southern Division National Band Association/College Band Directors Conference. Many consider the concert hall one of the finest in the southeast. Congrats once again to the fabulous student musicians at Satellite! FLORIDA TODAY visited us and featured Satellite in the paper today! Posted in Wind Ensemble | Comments Off September 11 Home Game a Good One!September 13th, 2009
September 11 marked Satellite’s first home game of the season and it was a great one. Despite losing the game (due to a bad call on the first touchdown of the game) it was a great game and exciting to see our team doing so well this year. The stands were packed, the new food court was popular, and the marching Scorps unveiled The King & I. A highlight of the evening was honoring our men and women in the armed forces as well as our fireman and policeman on the anniversary of September 11. The Bands from both Satellite and Eau Gallie came together on the field at half time for a fabulous rendition of America the Beautiful. Great job! Students reported to the field each morning to begin a full day of work on the “King & I” production. Parents came today to see the results of the first week’s work as well as the fun sectionals dress up and skits and then off to the annual picnic. Rest up over the weekend and report to the field Tuesday for rehearsal!
